Janusz Zygmunt Kamiński is a Polish film and television director and director who started his career in the United States. He rose to fame in the 1990s for his work on Schindler's List. He has partnered with Steven Spielberg, who has served as cinematographer for his films since 1993. He won the Oscar for Best Director of Photography for his work on the Schindler and Saving Private Ryan list. In recent years, Kamiński has also moved into directing, first with the horror film Lost Souls, and then with dramas like Event and Parting. In 2019, the American Association of Cinematographers included a list of Schindler and Saving Private Ryan, both filmed by Kamiński, on the list of the best-photographed movies of the 20th century
