Jasleen Kaur Royal, known professionally as Jasleen Royal, is an Indian singer, songwriter and songwriter who sings in Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati as well as English. She won the award for best indie song at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards India 2013. She received this award for her first song "Panchi Ho Jaava", composed and sung by Jasleen, based on a Poem by the late Shiv Kumar Batalvi. She won the award for "Best Independent Artist" at "Free The Music", a Songdew initiative dedicated to independent musicians. She was nominated alongside famous and well-known singers such as Kailash Kher, Rabbi Shergill and Delhi-based Indus Creed. She entered Bollywood in September 2014 with the movie Khoobsurat by stars Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan with the song "Preet" written by Sneha Khanwalkar and written by Amitabh Verma.
