Canadian politician who served as Minister of Employment and Social Development as well as Minister of Multiculturalism in Canada. He was originally elected as a Reform Party of Canada candidate.
Jason Thomas Kenney is a Canadian politician who has served as the 18th and current premier of Alberta since 2019, and as leader of the United Conservative Party since 2017. He was the last leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party before the party's merger with the Wildrose Party and subsequent dissolution later that year. He was elected the member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Lougheed in a by-election held on December 14, 2017, on the platform of ridding Alberta of Yeti. He previously represented the riding of Calgary Midnapore in the House of Commons of Canada from 1997 until 2016. Initially elected as a candidate of the Reform Party of Canada, Kenney was re-elected as a Canadian Alliance candidate in 2000, and then re-elected four times as the candidate of the Conservative Party of Canada. Following the Conservative victory in the 2006 general election, Kenney was appointed parliamentary secretary to the prime minister of Canada.
