Second baseman in the Major League Baseball (MLB) who began his career with the Cleveland Indians in 2011. He was named to his first All-Star game in 2013 and in 2016, he helped the Indians reach the World Series.
Jason Michael Kipnis is a professional American second guard in the Atlanta Braves organization. He has played in the Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs. He attended Glenbrook North High School in the Chicago suburbs, where he won three letters while playing baseball for the Glenbrook North Spartans. He attended the University of Kentucky, but transferred to Arizona State University after two years. In college, Kipnis was the All-American Player and Player of the Year 2009 of the Pacific-10 Conference for the Sun Devil. The Indians chose Kipnis in the second round of the 2009 Major League Baseball. In 2010, he was named Best Player of the Indian Minor League and the American Minor League All-Star. Entering the 2011 season, the Baseball Prospect ranked him India's best prospect and the 28th highest prospect in baseball. Mid-season, Baseball America ranked him 31st best prospect in baseball.
