Jeffrey Scot Tweedy is an American musician, songwriter, songwriter and record producer best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Wilco. Tweedy, of Belleville, Illinois, began his high school music career in The Plebes with Jay Farrar, before becoming a country band that replaced Uncle Tupelo. After Uncle Tupelo split, Tweedy founded Wilco which achieved commercial and critical critical success, most notably with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born, which went on to receive a Grammy for the replacement for the Best album in 2005. During Tweedy's career, he released 20 studios. albums, including four with Uncle Tupelo, eleven with Wilco, one with his son Spencer, one solo acoustic album, three solo studio albums, as well as numerous collaborations with other musicians including Mermaid Avenue with Billy Bragg.
