Jefferson Agustín Farfán Guadalupe is a Peruvian professional footballer who mainly plays as a striker or winger for Alianza Lima and the Peruvian national football team. Farfán started his career with Deportivo Municipal and Alianza Lima; The club later saw him make his professional debut in 2001. In 2002 Farfán was ranked as one of the next best players in Peruvian football and a year later he won the Brand Second Primera División title. After winning his third league title with Alianza in 2004, he was recognized as the best Peruvian player that year. Joining PSV Eindhoven in mid-2004, Farfán helped the Dutch giant win four Eredivisie titles. He signed for Bundesliga team Schalke 04 in 2008 and during his time with the club he won the DFB-Pokal 2011 final
