Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy is an American director, producer, writer, singer-songwriter and former actress. She is known for her acting career, notably for the role of Sam Puckett in the sitcom Nickelodeon iCarly and the supporting series Sam & Cat. She has also appeared in several other dramas including Malcolm in the Middle, Zoey 101, Lincoln Heights, True Jackson, VP, Victorious and Between. She has also produced, written, and starred in her own web series titled What's Next for Sarah? In terms of music, McCurdy independently released her first single "So Close" in 2009. She released her first extended piece, Not That Far Away, in 2010. McCurdy's second extended piece of the same name. Was released in 2012, followed by her debut studio album of the same name the following year. Lead single "Generation Love" debuted at number 57 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at number 44. In 2017, McCurdy gave up acting to pursue a career in writing and directing.
