Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr. is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the founder, lead guitarist, lead singer and lead musician of the rock band Alice in Chains. The group gained international fame in the early 1990s during the Seattle grunge movement, and were known for their distinctive vocal style and harmonized vocals between Cantrell and Layne Staley. Cantrell began singing on Alice in Chains' EP Sap in 1992. After Staley's death in 2002, Cantrell took on the lead vocal role of Alice in Chains on most of the band's post-Staley albums. , Black Gives Way to Blue, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Rainier Fog., With DuVall mixing with you. . in new songs and singing Staley's voice in old songs at live concerts.
