Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. The group includes singer and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and undersinger Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind. They released 10 studio albums, the last 9 with the current lineup. The commercial breakthrough of the four songs came with the release of several singles on their US album Bleed, four of which reached the top 20 spots on the alternative song chart, with "The Middle" reaching number 1. Their next album, Futures, features number 1 song "Pain". The RIAA has certified Bleed American Platinum and Futures Gold, rewarding two albums for having sold more than 1.5 million copies between them. The band's sixth album, Chase This Light, became their best album and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200. The band released their tenth album, Surviving, in October 2019
