NBA shooting guard who was drafted 10th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2011 after a remarkable career at Brigham Young University. In 2017, he joined the Shanghai Sharks.
James Taft "Jimmer" Fredette is an American professional basketball player for the Shanghai Sharks of the China Basketball Association. Fredette was the 2011 National College Basketball Player of the Year after ranking as the top scorer in all NCAA Division I tournaments in his final season for the BYU Cougars. He was then selected with the tenth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, but only played a limited number of minutes for four teams in five NBA seasons. He spent most of the 2015-16 season in the NBA Development League, in which he won the All-Star MVP. In 2016, he joined the Shanghai Sharks from the ABC, and during the 2016-17 ABC season, he led the league in points, with 37.6 points per game, including all the phases of the season. He also won the ABC International MVP award this season.
