Joseph Edmund Johnson, Baron Marylebone is a British politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation from July to September 2019, as well as before. 2015 to 2018. As a member of the Conservative Party he was a Member of Parliament for Orpington from 2010 to 2019. His brother, Boris Johnson, had been Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2019. Retired from politics, Johnson became the non-executive chairman of Tes. He is also a Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and Presidential Research Fellow at King's College London. Since then, he has returned to his work as a journalist in the media such as the Financial Times. Johnson was appointed Director of Policy Unit 10 by Prime Minister David Cameron in 2013. He became Secretary of State in the Cabinet Office 2014 and Minister of Universities in 2015.
