Joseph Robert Theismann is a former professional American football player, sports commentator, speaker and restaurant owner. He is famous for playing midfield for the National Football Federation and the Canadian Football Federation. Theismann spent 12 seasons with Washington Redskins, where he was a Pro Bowl athlete twice and helped the team win the Super Bowl, win Super Bowl XVII against Miami Dolphins and lose to Super Bowl XVIII. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.
