Joseph Daniel Votto was the first professional Canadian baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball baseball team. He made his MLB debut against the Reds in 2007. Votto is a six-time MLB star, seven-time Tip O'Neill Award winner and two-time Lou Marsh Trophy winner as Canadian Athlete of the Year. In 2010, he won the National Federation MVP Award and the NL Hank Aaron Award. Among all active players at the end of the 2018 season, he comes first in career-based percentage, second in OPS and running, and fourth in ball average.
