John Allen Amos Jr is an American actor famous for the role of James Evans, Sr. in the CBS TV series Good Times and 1977 Roots miniseries, he received amy Award nomination. Other Amos television productions include The Mary Tyler Moore Show, a recurring role as Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on The West Wing, and the mayor of Washington, D.C. Ethan Baker in The District. Amos has appeared on Broadway and in many films throughout four decades of his career. He has been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards and the NAACP Image Awards. In terms of cinema, he has played many supporting roles in movies The Beastmaster, Coming to America and Die Hard 2.
