John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega, known as John Boyega, is a British actor and producer of English Nigerian descent. He first rose to fame in his homeland as Moses in the sci-fi comedy Attack the Block, and his international foray came as Finn in the Star Wars The Force Awakens trilogy sequel, The Last Jedi and The Rise of the Skywalker. His other credits include the TV series Imperial Dreams, the Detroit landmark drama, the sci-fi drama Pacific Rim: Uprising, and four episodes of the television series 24: Live Another Day. He received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016 and the Chopard Cup at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. Boyega was voted by New Africa magazine as one of the 100 most influential Africans in 2020 .
