John Forbes Kerry is an American politician and diplomat who is currently the Climate Special Envoy for the first Special President of the United States. Before that, he served as the 68th Secretary of State from 2013 to 2017. As an attorney and former naval officer, Kerry received the public's attention for the first time as a Vietnam veteran. Makeup becomes an anti-war activist. He then served as attorney and lieutenant colonel for Massachusetts, before becoming US Senator from Massachusetts from 1985 to 2013. As a member of the Democratic Party, he was a Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States in the 2004 election, for which he lost to incumbent President George W. Shrubs. He was the last Democratic presidential candidate to date to lose the popular vote. Kerry grew up as a military kid in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. before attending boarding schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
