John Lloyd Mills Young is an American actor and singer. In 2006, he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in Musical for his role as Frankie Valli in Broadway's Jersey Boys play. He is to date the only American actor to have received the Actor in the musical Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theater World Award for his Broadway debut. Young sang the lead role on the Grammy Award-winning album Jersey Boys, certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Young reconstituted the role of Frankie Valli in Warner Brothers' Jersey Boys, directed and released by Clint Eastwood on June 20, 2014. Young was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Presidential Committee on the Arts and Humanities. He resigned from the Presidential Commission in August 2017, co-signing a resignation letter referring to President Trump, "Ignoring your hateful rhetoric will make us complicit in your words and actions."
