John Patrick McEnroe Jr is an American former professional tennis player. He is known for his skills in shooting and hitting the ball, in addition to his head-to-head behavior on the pitch that often leaves him in trouble with tennis officials and authorities. McEnroe reached world number one in singles and doubles, ending her career with 77 singles and 78 doubles titles; This is still the highest combined male total in the open era. He has won seven single Grand Slam titles, four at the US Open and three at Wimbledon, and nine men's doubles Grand Slam titles. His single match record of 82-3 in 1984 remains the best one-season win rate in the Open Era. McEnroe also excelled at year-end tournaments, having won eight singles titles and seven doubles titles, both of which broke records. Three of his year-end singles championships were won at the Masters Grand Prix and five at the World Tennis Championship final, which ended in 1989 .
