John Peter Petrucci is an American guitarist, composer and producer. He is best known as a founding member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He has produced or co-produced all of the Dream Theater albums from Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes from a Memory to Distance Over Time, and is the only producer of the group's albums to be released since A Dramatic Turn. of Events. Petrucci has also released two solo albums: Suspended Animation and Terminal Velocity. Considered "one of the most famous guitarists in the world" by Premier Guitar, Petrucci performed as the third guitarist on the G3 tour, more than any other guest guitarist. In their article "John Petrucci: The Ultimate Evolved Guitarist", the Premier Guitar called Petrucci "one of the best people ever to put their hands on their necks". He was voted "Best Guitarist" and "Greatest Guitarist" by The Prog Magazine and Mariskalrock by Burrn and Mariskalrock Magazine.
