John M. Slattery Jr. is an American actor and director known for his role as Roger Sterling in the AMC TV series Mad Men. Other Slattery acting credits include starring Ben Bradlee, Jr. in the Best Picture Award, and Howard Stark in the Marvel Iron Man 2, Ant-Man., Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame movies. He has received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two critics-selected TV awards for Mad Men and is part of the cast of Mad Men that has won two SAGs. In 2013, Slattery directed his first feature film, God's Pocket, which he co-wrote with Alex Metcalf. The film is based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Pete Dexter, which was premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and selected for distribution by IFC Films.
