John Houston Stockton is a retired American professional basketball player. He has spent his entire NBA career as a point guard for the Utah Jazz, and the team have reached the knockout stages in each of their 19 seasons. In 1997 and 1998, along with longtime teammate Karl Malone, Stockton led Jazz to the franchise's only two NBA Finals. Stockton was a 10-time NBA All-Star and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame was featured twice. In 1996, he was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. Stockton holds the NBA record for most career assists and steals by a wide margin and is widely regarded as one of the best players of all time.
