Author and illustrator behind the award-winning children's books I Want My Hat Back and This Is Not My Hat. Both of his books were New York Times bestsellers, and he was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal for both.
Jon Klassen is a Canadian writer and children's book illustrator and entertainment artist. He has won both the US Caldecott Medal and the UK Kate Greenaway Medal for Illustrations in Children's Books, in recognition of the 2012 photo book This Is Not My Hat, which he also wrote. He was the first person to win both awards for the same work. This Is Not My Hat is a companion to Klassen's previous photo book, I Want My Hat Back, his first book as a writer and illustrator. Both books have been on the New York Times bestsellers list for more than 40 weeks; by April 2014, one or the other has been translated into 22 languages and together they have exceeded one million copies sold worldwide. Both books are recommended for children 5 years of age and older by judges at Greenaway. Klassen's "hat" trio concludes with the publication of We Found a Hat.
