Roberta Joan "Joni" Mitchell is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Drawn from folk, pop, rock, classical and jazz, Mitchell's songs often reflect his social and philosophical ideals as well as his feelings of romance, femininity, disillusionment, and fun belief. She has received numerous awards including nine Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Rolling Stone calls her "one of the greatest musicians of all time," and AllMusic said: " When the dust settles, Joni Mitchell can present herself as the most important and influential female artist of the late 20th century ". Mitchell started singing at small nightclubs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and throughout western Canada, before moving to nightclubs in Toronto, Ontario. In 1965, she moved to the United States and began touring. Some of his original songs were covered by other folk singers, which allowed him to sign with Reprise Records and record his debut album, Song to a Seagull, in 1968 .
