Jamie Trevor Oliver is an English chef and restaurant owner. He is famous for his easy going food, which has led him to appear on many TV shows and open many restaurants. Born and raised in Claving, Essex, he trained in London before joining Antonio Carluccio's Neal Street restaurant as a pastry chef. While working as a chef at the River Café, he was noticed by Patricia Llewellyn of Optomen; and in 1999 the BBC aired its television show The Naked Chef. Followed by the first cookbook, which became the UK's # 1 bestseller. His television work includes a documentary, Jamie's Kitchen, which helped him receive an invitation from Prime Minister Tony Blair to visit 10 Downing Street. In 2005, he launched a campaign, Feed Me Better, to introduce students to healthier foods, which was later supported by the government. He is the owner of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, which opened its first restaurant, Jamie's Italian, in Oxford in 2008
