Jordan Ross Belfort is an American author, motivational speaker, former stockbroker and convicted of a felony. In 1999, he committed fraud and other crimes related to stock market manipulation and operated a boiler room as part of a penny scam. Belfort spent 22 months in jail under a deal in which he testified against several partners and subordinates in his fraud scheme. He published his memoir The Wolf of Wall Street in 2007, was adapted into a film of the same name and released in 2013.
