Summer Hoyland is a fictional character in the Australian opera Neighbors, played by Jordy Lucas. She first appeared on screen in the episode aired on May 20, 2002. The character was originally played by Marisa Siketa from her arrival until she left in 2005 and the comebacks. then her in 2006 and 2007. In October 2009, the character was announced to be back on the show. Siketa auditioned for her previous role, but the producers felt the character had grown too much. They decided to choose Lucas as their replacement after catching their attention in Dolly magazine's "Neighbors Next Big Stars" contest. Summer returned on February 11, 2010. Lucas announced his departure from Neighbors in September 2012 and the summer departure on January 10, 2013
