Sio Julian Savea is a New Zealand Rugby Federation player. He currently plays the Hurricanes wing in Super Rugby Aotearoa. Savea previously played for Toulon in the Top 14, and was former captain of the Wellington Lions in the Miter 10 Cup. From 2012 to 2017, he made 54 caps for New Zealand. He also represents New Zealand at the age of seven and under 20. Savea has the nickname "Bus", a nickname given to by U20 team coach Dave Rennie. Savea is a key member of the World Rugby 2015 championship team and is the tournament's top scorer with eight attempts. Savea is one of the best scorers in New Zealand history, scoring 46 points in his international career. Savea was nominated for Rugby World Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015, winning the Try of the Year award in 2015 .
