The Los Angeles Lakers selected him seventh overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. After spending his first four NBA seasons in Los Angeles, he played one season with the New Orleans Pelicans, then signed with the New York Knicks in 2019. In 2021, he was named to his first NBA All-Star Game and won the NBA Most Improved Player award.

Julius Deion Randle is an American professional basketball player with the National Basketball Association's New York Knicks. In his only college basketball season with the Kentucky Wildcats, he was named the third All-American team. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft with a seventh overall pick. In his debut for the new season, Randle broke his right leg and missed the rest of the rookie season. After four years with the Lakers, he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 21.4 points per game during the 2018-19 season, his only season with the Pelicans, before reaching a deal to join the Knicks. In his second season with the Knicks, Randle played his first All-Star game.
