Justin Lee Langer is an Australian cricketer coach and former cricketer. He is the current coach of the Australian men's national team, having been appointed to the post in May 2018 following the fake ball scandal led by former head coach Darren Lehmann. As a left-handed player, Langer is known for his collaboration with Matthew Hayden as an Australian test starter in the early to mid-2000s, considered one of the most successful. Representing Western Australia in the country, Langer played British County Cricket for Middlesex and Somerset. He holds the record for the most descents recorded at the first level by an Australian. Born in Perth, Western Australia, Langer excelled at cricket from a young age, representing Western Australia at a minor level, as well as the Australian Under-19 team. He also won a scholarship to the Australian Cricket Academy of the Australian Sports Institute in 1990
