This Nobel Peace Prize-winning activist is best known as the creator of the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (English translation: Save the Childhood Movement), which fought to safeguard tens of thousands of children around the world from being forced to work long hours under dangerous working conditions.

Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian social reformer who has campaigned against child labor in India and advocated for universal education. In 2014, he was co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Malala Yousafzai, "for the fight against the persecution of children and adolescents and for the right to education of all children". He is the founder of numerous social activism organizations including Bachpan Bachao Andolan, the Global March Against Child Labor, the Global Campaign for Education and the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Organization. Kailash Satyarthi and his team at Bachpan Bachao Andolan have freed more than 90,000 children in India from child labor, slavery and human trafficking. In 1998, Satyarthi conceived and led the Global Action Against Child Labor, an 80,000 kilometer march through 103 countries to raise a global demand against all forms of child labor. It has become one of the greatest social movements of all time because children are exploited.
