Katrina Elizabeth DiCamillo is an American novelist for children of all reading levels, usually about animals. She is one of six to win two Newbery medals, in recognition of her novels Tales of Despereaux and Flora & Ulysses. His most famous children's books are the Mercy Watson series, illustrated by Chris Van Dusen. DiCamillo lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. DiCamillo is the U.S. National Ambassador for Children's Literature, appointed by the Library of Congress for the 2014 and 2015 terms.
