Kathleen Hanna is an American singer, songwriter, artist, feminist, pioneer of the feminist punk riot movement and punk zine writer. From the beginning to the mid-1990s, she was the lead vocalist of the feminist punk band Bikini Kill, before leading Tiger in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Since 2010, she has been filmed under the name Julie Ruin. A 2013 documentary about Hanna released by director Sini Anderson, titled The Punk Singer, details Hanna's life and career, as well as reveals her multi-year battle with Lyme disease. Hanna is married to Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys.
