Joseph Kevin Keegan, is a former English football manager and player. As a striker, he has played for a number of clubs, including Newcastle United, Southampton, Liverpool and Hamburger SV. He went on to lead Newcastle United, Fulham and Manchester City, claiming to be crowned champions in his first season at all three clubs. He also served as player and manager of the England national team. Keegan also won the Ballon d'Or twice, 1978 and 1979. He started his competitive career at Scunthorpe United in 1968, before moving to Liverpool in 1971. At Liverpool, Keegan won three positions. Cup, FA Cup and European Cup. He also played for England for the first time in 1972 and joined the Hamburger SV club in West Germany in the summer of 1977. In Hamburg he was named best player in Europe for years. 1978 and 1979, winning the 1978-1979 Bundesliga championship, and reaching the European Cup final in 1980.
