Kevin David Mitnick is an American computer security consultant, author and convicted hacker. He is known for his high level arrest in 1995 and 5 years in prison for numerous computer and media offenses. Mitnick's prosecution, arrest, trial and conviction, along with related press, books and films, are all controversial. He currently runs a security company, Mitnick Security Consulting, LLC. He is also the Director of Hacking and co-owner of security awareness training company KnowBe4 and an active member of the advisory board of Zimperium, a company that develops intrusion prevention systems.
