Kevin Edmund Youkilis, nicknamed "Youk", is a former US professional baseball player and third athlete who primarily played for the Boston Red Sox. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was introduced to the Red Sox in 2001 after playing varsity baseball at the University of Cincinnati. He played in Major League baseball for the Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees. He is currently a special assistant to the Chicago Cubs and former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein. Known for his ability to hold, while still a child, Youkilis was nicknamed Euclis: The Greek walking god in the bestseller Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. As the first batter to win the Golden Gloves Award, he once held the baseball record for most consecutive matches without making a first base mistake. He is also a three-time MLB star, twice World Series champion and 2008 Hank Aaron Award winner
