He has been widely recognized as an influencer of certain hip hop and alternative arts. Cudi's first long-term project, a mixtape called A Kid Named Cudi caught the attention of American rapper and producer Kanye West, who signed Cudi to his GOOD Music label. Cudi's debut single "Day" n 'Nite "was released in late 2008. His debut studio album Man on the Moon: The End of Day was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, released in 2008. In 2010, he released his second album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and founded rock band WZRD with longtime collaborator Dot da Genius. Their debut album of the same name topped the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart.
