Kimbra Lee Johnson is a New Zealand singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model who blends pop with elements of R&B, jazz and rock. His musical influences range from Prince and Minnie Riperton to Björk and Jeff Buckley. Her first album, Vows, was released in Australia in 2011. The singles on the album include "Settle Down", "Cameo Lover", "Good Intent" and "Two Way Street". A remake of the album was released in Europe and the US in 2012. It includes several new songs, including "Come into My Head", "Warrior" and the cover "Plain Gold Ring". by Nina Simone. It reached the top 5 in New Zealand and Australia; on May 22, 2012, the album was released in North America, debuting at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, its most successful album. Vincent Fantauzzo's Kimbra portrait reached the final round of the Archibald Awards in 2012. The portrait was drawn in conjunction with the video work for his song "The Build Up".
