Ricardo Emmanuel Brown, known by his stage name Kurupt, is an American rapper who contributed to the rise of gangsta rap through lyrics in the 1990s, helping to create lasting trends. He is one half of the rap duo Dogg Pound, alongside Daz. Their first solo album was released in 1998. After quarrels, the duo reunited in 2005. Kurupt also joined super rap groups, like DPGC, including Snoop Dogg.
