Lars Ulrich R is a Danish musician, musician and record producer. He gained worldwide fame as a drummer and co-founder of American heavy metal band Metallica. The son and nephew of tennis athletes Torben and Einer Ulrich respectively, he played tennis at a young age and moved to Los Angeles at 16 years old for professional training. However, instead of playing tennis, Ulrich started playing drums. After posting an advertisement in The Recycler, Ulrich met James Hetfield and founded Metallica. With Hetfield, Ulrich wrote the credits for most of the band's songs. He is the face of the group in the Napster controversy.
