Laura Welsh is an English indie pop singer from Staffordshire. Welsh was lead singer for Laura & the Tears in the late 2000s, and released an EP with the group in 2009, titled Love Live On. After the band disbanded, she moved to London and pursued a solo career, first with the nickname Hey Laura, then simply Laura Welsh. She started recording with Emile Haynie and Lightspeed Champion and started releasing singles in 2013 through Polydor Records. In 2014, she opened for Ellie Goulding and London Grammar and was the singer on "Here for You", a single from Gorgon City which entered the UK charts. In the US, his eponymous EP reached No. 23 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts in 2014, and the single "Undiscovered", appearing on Fifty Shades of Gray OST, reached number 38 on the charts.
