Leif GW Persson before fame

In 1977, he joined the Swedish National Police Board, where he rose to prominence as a whistleblower who linked Prime Minister Olof Palme to a prostitution ring. He was sacked as a result of his work, but he went on to teach at Stockholm University. In 1992, he based his debut novel on the event.
