American stand-up comedian and actor most known for his appearance on The Daily Show's Back in Black segment. In God We Rust, his ninth comedy album, was published in 2012. In the 2015 Disney film Inside Out, he plays the character Anger.
Lewis Niles Black is an American comedian. His comedies often turn into jokes about history, politics, religion or any other cultural trend. He hosted Lewis Black's Root of All Evil Comedy Center series and appeared regularly on The Daily Show with the comment segment “Back in Black”, which he has been doing since The Daily Show organized by Craig Kilborn. When not on the road, Black resides in Manhattan, but also has a residence in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is also a spokesperson for the Aruba Tourism Authority, appearing in television commercials that first aired in late 2009 and 2010, and expressing anger in the 2015 Pixar film Inside Out. Lewis Black before fame
After a year at the University of Maryland, he transferred to the University of North Carolina. He graduated from Yale with a Master of Fine Arts in 1977 and began his career as a playwright in Hell's Kitchen, New York. In 1990, he penned the musical The Czar of Rock and Roll, which had its world premiere at Houston's Alley Theatre.
