Jonathan H. Smith, known by his stage name Lil Jon, is an American rapper, musician, DJ and record producer. He's the leader of the platinum-selling rap group Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz and is instrumental in the rise of hip / hop crunk. He is credited with bringing the genre mainstream, producing Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 singles "Get Low", "Goodies", "Cyclone", "Freek-a-Leek" and "Yeah!" "Yes!" won the Grammy Award for Best Rap / Sung Performance. Lil Jon is also a regular collaborator with friends and rapper Pitbull. In 2013, Lil Jon collaborated with DJ Snake and released the platinum multi-platinum electronic dance hit, "Turn Down for What", which won the Billboard Music Award for Top Dance / Electronic Song. The clip for the single, released in 2014, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video and viewed more than 900 million times on YouTube in October 2019 .
