Lin Dan is a former Chinese professional badminton player. He is two-time Olympic champion, five-time world champion and six-time Toan England champion. Widely known as the greatest badminton player of all time, Lin completed the "Super Grand Slam" at the age of 28, winning what some consider nine major badminton titles: Olympic Games, Championship World Cup, World Cup. Thomas Cup, Sudirman Cup, Super Series Masters Finals, All England Open, Asian Games and Asian Championships, have become the first and only players to achieve this feat. He also became the first men's singles player to hold an Olympic gold when he won in 2008 and defended his title in 2012. In 2004, he was nicknamed "Super Dan" by his rival Peter Gade. After winning the All England Open final, and that moniker has since been widely used by fans and the media to mention, in recognition of his accomplishments.
