William Mack Brown is an American football coach. He currently holds second place as the head coach of football at the University of North Carolina where he first coached from 1988 until he left in 1997 to become the head coach of the University. from Texas. He was recently a college football commentator for ESPN. In January 2018, Brown was selected to enter the university's Football Fame Hall. In November 2018, Brown accepted the vacant position in North Carolina, replacing Larry Fedora. Prior to taking up his post as head coach in Texas and North Carolina, Brown was the head coach of Appalachian State and later Tulane. He is credited with reviving football shows in North Carolina and Texas.
