Sven Magnus Øen Carlsen is a Norwegian grandmaster who is currently world chess champion, champion of fast chess world, and champion of chess world. Carlsen reached number one in the FIDE World Rankings in 2010, behind Garry Kasparov during his time as the world's most highly-rated player. Its maximum classical rating is 2,882, which is the highest in history. Carlsen also holds the record for the longest streak of unbeaten matches in classical chess. A chess prodigy, Carlsen finished first in Group C of the Corus Chess Prize shortly after turning 13, and won the Grand Master title a few months later. At the age of 15, he won the Norwegian Chess Championship and at 17, he finished first in Corus's leading group. He passed the 2,800 rating at the age of 18 and peaked at number one in the FIDE World Rankings at the age of 19, becoming the youngest person ever to have ever achieved these accomplishments. Carlsen became world chess champion in 2013 when he defeated Viswanathan Anand.
