After winning a dozen national titles by 2017, he was labeled"Norway's best" as a rock climber. During his remarkable career, he has scaled ultra-difficult routes such as the Cosi Fan Tutte and the Ali Hulk Sit Start Extension.

Magnus Midtbø is a Norwegian union member and politician from the Labor Party. He was born in Ålvik. He trained in electronics and worked in the field before becoming one of the top union members. He joined the Norwegian Association of Engineering and Management Unions in 1971 and served as deputy director from 1982 to 1989, serving from 1989 to 1990, and leader from 1990 to 2005. An exception was the period of 1996-1997, where he served in Jagland's Cabinet as Secretary of State in the Department of Education, Research, and Church Affairs. Midtbø died in February 2010 at his home in Nesodden.
