Mandy Sellars is a British woman with a rare genetic mutation that resulted in abnormal growth in both of her legs. In 2006, several doctors diagnosed Sellars with Proteus syndrome, a very rare disease thought to affect only 120 people worldwide, but recent diagnoses focused on a mutation in the PIK3CA gene. Some reports still describe her condition as a rare form of Proteus syndrome, but Sellars herself has rejected this diagnosis. Sellars' status was mentioned in a number of TV shows, prompting Sellars to joke himself as a "part time TV star".
