Mao Asada is a former Japanese figure skater. She is a 2010 Olympic silver medalist, three-time world champion, four-time champion on four continents and four-time Grand Prix final champion. She was the first figure skater to land three Axel jumps in a competition, which she completed at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she became a woman, the first to achieve eight. triple jumps in free skating. Asada is also the 2005 Junior World Championship champion, 2004-05 Junior Grand Prix Grand Final champion and six-time Japanese national champion.
