Marc Gasol Sáez is a Spanish professional basketball player from the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. In central position, he was ranked 48th in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. After that his rights were traded with the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2008 in a deal that brought in his brother Pau. He went to the Lakers, signed for and stayed with the franchise until he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2019, where he earned his first NBA Championship victory. He is a two-time, three-time member of the NBA All-Star Team and NBA Champion. In 2013, he was named NBA Defense Player of the Year. Gasol has been a regular member of the Spanish national team since 2006. He won two Olympic silver medals and two FIBA Basketball World Cup titles. At EuroBasket he won two titles, one silver medal and two bronze medals.
